On November 26th, reports emerged that on Wednesday, Sharad Agarwal, the Managing Director of Tesla India, highlighted that Indian consumers are projected to recoup roughly one-third of the Model Y's purchase price through savings on fuel and maintenance over the next 4 to 5 years. The Model Y is currently priced at approximately 6 million rupees (around $67,220) in the Indian market. Tesla made its entry into the Indian market in July of this year; however, due to steep taxes, the Model Y's price in India is about 70% higher than its price in the US market. Sharad Agarwal pointed out that Indian consumers could potentially save around 2 million rupees on maintenance and gasoline expenses after acquiring the Model Y. He further elaborated, "Moreover, the model boasts a high resale value, and the cost of home charging is merely one-tenth of the price of gasoline."
