In November 2025, Tesla announced on social media platforms that the Dutch regulatory body, RDW, had pledged to green-light its FSD (Full Self-Driving) driver-assistance system by February 2026. The company also urged users to voice their support to the regulatory agency. Nevertheless, RDW promptly issued a clarification on its official website, stating that while Tesla is set to showcase its FSD Supervised system in February of the following year, approval is far from guaranteed. RDW underscored that all autonomous driving technologies are subject to the EU's standardized type-approval process, and Tesla's FSD system had yet to furnish the complete set of compliance documents. Tesla, for its part, maintained that it had already carried out FSD demonstrations for regulatory bodies in nearly every EU member state and had provided exhaustive safety data. At present, the rollout of Tesla's FSD in Europe continues to be impeded by stringent legal and safety assessment benchmarks.
