On November 20, data released by the China Automobile Dealers Association (CAAM), based on bi-weekly reports on customer turnout, sales figures, and inventory levels from dealers, revealed that customer footfall in the first half of November experienced a 2.9% decline compared to the same period in October. However, it marked a 4.4% increase from the second half of October. During the first half of October, buoyed by numerous auto shows and promotional campaigns during the National Day Golden Week, customer traffic at dealerships soared. Yet, it witnessed a downturn in the latter half of the month.

In early November, propelled by promotions such as 'Double 11' (a major online shopping festival in China, akin to Black Friday in the U.S.), customer footfall rebounded. Despite a slight dip from the same period in October, the overall traffic levels remained robust. The latter half of November is poised to see a further uptick in customer visits, as the Guangzhou International Auto Show is set to open, unveiling several new and refreshed car models. This event is anticipated to act as a catalyst for increased customer engagement. Additionally, with the impending expiration of the policy waiving purchase taxes on new energy vehicles, consumers with intentions to buy cars are expected to capitalize on this window, flocking to dealerships to make their purchases.
