On November 12, the 2025 World Power Battery Conference kicked off in Yibin, Sichuan Province. Zhang Jinhua, President of the China Society of Automotive Engineers, expressed that solid-liquid hybrid batteries are poised for a rapid shift from small-scale pilot applications to full-fledged commercialization. Owing to their promising attributes of high safety and high energy density, these batteries have emerged as a pivotal avenue in the evolution of power battery technology.

At present, the two predominant technological approaches involve the incorporation of inorganic electrolytes and the partial polymerization of the electrolyte. However, these methods are not without hurdles, including issues related to interfacial impedance, cost-effectiveness, and manufacturing processes. Looking ahead, it is anticipated that by 2030, the energy density of solid-liquid hybrid batteries will surpass 450Wh/kg, thereby comprehensively satisfying the stringent performance demands for automotive applications and paving the way for their widespread commercial adoption.
