CAAM Report: China’s Auto Sector Witnesses Over 10% Year-on-Year Growth in Production and Sales from January to October

On November 11, the latest figures released indicate that between January and October this year, China’s automobile production climbed to 27.692 million units, while sales reached 27.687 million units, marking a year-on-year increase exceeding 10% for both metrics. Specifically, the production and sales volumes of new energy vehicles (NEVs) stood at 13.015 million units and 12.943 million units, respectively, with year-on-year growth rates of 33.1% and 32.7%. Notably, in October, the monthly sales of NEVs accounted for over 50% of total new car sales for the first time, hitting a record 51.6%. Regarding exports, during the same period, China exported 2.014 million NEVs, reflecting a remarkable 90.4% year-on-year surge.
