Recently, a Xiaomi vehicle owner uploaded a video online, asserting that their car, which was parked outside a shop, unexpectedly started up and drove off on its own. On the evening of October 3, a Xiaomi spokesperson issued a response. The company emphasized that it took the incident very seriously and immediately set up a dedicated task force to carry out a thorough investigation. Additionally, Xiaomi worked closely with the vehicle owner to verify the situation. By examining the operation logs from the user-authorized mobile app, vehicle data, and other relevant information, both Xiaomi and the owner arrived at a consensus: the vehicle's backend data, the operation logs from an iPhone 15 Pro Max, the response times, and the parking exit commands all aligned perfectly. This evidence effectively ruled out any vehicle quality issues.
During the course of the investigation, Xiaomi secured authorization to access the vehicle's backend data and operation logs from two mobile phones that had vehicle control permissions. The data clearly indicated that after receiving a parking assistance command from the iPhone 15 Pro Max, the vehicle duly activated the function and commenced the parking exit maneuver. Earlier, there had been some confusion among online customer service representatives, who mistakenly mixed up the device model identifier with the actual device model. This led to misunderstandings among users. Xiaomi expressed its sincere apologies for this oversight and pledged to make continuous improvements in its subsequent services.
