Recently, a Xiaomi vehicle owner in Weihai, Shandong Province, uploaded a video online, alleging that his parked car, which was stationary at his doorstep, suddenly started and drove off on its own without any manual intervention.

Following this incident, the owner reached out to Xiaomi Vehicle's customer service. The representative initially speculated that the incident might have been caused by an inadvertent touch on the owner's phone. However, the owner firmly denied any phone operation at the time and subsequently released a comprehensive surveillance video to support his claim.

On the evening of October 3, a Xiaomi spokesperson issued a response. After a thorough examination of the vehicle's backend data and the user's phone operation logs, it was revealed that the vehicle had indeed started after receiving a parking assistance command from an iPhone 15 Pro Max. During the online customer service exchange, there was a mix-up in identifying the device model, which led to a misunderstanding on the part of the user. Xiaomi extended its sincere apologies for the confusion and inconvenience caused by this incident.
