On September 16 (local time), Nissan Motor unveiled that, as a component of its 'Re:Nissan' initiative, it would undertake strategic modifications to its worldwide design operations. In particular, the Nissan Design America (NDA) facility in San Diego, California, and the Nissan Design Latin America (NDLA) center in São Paulo, Brazil, are slated to progressively wind down their operations. Design-related activities and projects will be reassigned to alternative studios. This move aims to ensure the seamless progression of design endeavors and bring them in line with the company's newly established strategic priorities. In the meantime, Nissan will also downsize its design operations in London and Japan. The automaker intends to wrap up this restructuring process by the conclusion of fiscal year 2025.
