Guo Shougang, Deputy Director-General of the Equipment Industry Department No.1 at the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), remarked at a recent forum that the automotive industry is currently grappling with a multitude of issues and challenges. On the global front, a surge in trade barriers has disrupted the stability of industrial and supply chains, impeding the internationalization efforts of companies. Domestically, the industry is confronted with a scarcity of high-end intelligent chips and foundational software, significant instances of unhealthy competition within the sector, and an insufficient intelligent support infrastructure. The MIIT is set to conduct a comprehensive evaluation of the automotive industry's development strategies, define clear objectives, assign tasks, refine measures, and empower leading firms to spearhead initiatives aimed at bolstering the resilience and competitiveness of industrial and supply chains.
