At the 2025 Munich Motor Show held in Germany, BYD made a splash by showcasing its cutting-edge megawatt flash charging technology. This revolutionary technology is slated for its European debut with the Tengshi brand. The initial deployment will see 200 to 300 megawatt flash chargers becoming operational next year. During the auto show, BYD also took the opportunity to unveil seven new models and revealed that its Hungarian factory is on track to commence production of its inaugural vehicle, the Seagull, later this year.
Currently, BYD's passenger vehicle lineup spans 32 countries and regions across Europe. Looking ahead, the company has set an ambitious goal of establishing over 2,000 stores throughout Europe by the end of 2026. Germany, in particular, is expected to complete the setup of 120 outlets by the close of this year. Back in March of this year, BYD had already rolled out its megawatt flash charging stations and chargers. These advanced chargers are capable of adding up to 400km of driving range in a mere 5 minutes of charging time. Building on this momentum, BYD envisions constructing more than 4,000 megawatt flash charging stations. Moreover, the company is actively planning to establish a comprehensive megawatt flash charging network across Europe.
