On the evening of August 29, BYD unveiled its 2025 semi-annual report, revealing a remarkable milestone: its revenue soared to 371.28 billion yuan, surpassing Tesla's semi-annual revenue for the same period for the very first time. Tesla, on the other hand, reported a total revenue of $41.8 billion (approximately 299.5 billion yuan) for the first half of 2025, marking an 11% year-on-year decline. When it comes to net profit attributable to shareholders, BYD shone brightly with a net profit of 15.511 billion yuan in the first half of 2025, representing a healthy 13.79% increase from the previous year. In contrast, Tesla's net profit for the same period declined by 30%, with a net profit attributable to shareholders of $2.327 billion (roughly 16.7 billion yuan).
