During the second quarter of 2025, global sales of pure electric vehicles surged to an impressive 3.28 million units, marking a robust year-on-year increase of 39%. BYD maintained its dominant position at the top, capturing a market share of 18.3%. In contrast, Tesla experienced a decline in sales due to underperformance in key markets, resulting in a drop in its market share to 11.7%. Close contenders included Geely, Wuling, Volkswagen, and BMW, which ranked third, fourth, fifth, and eighth, respectively. NIO and XPeng made significant strides, both exceeding the 100,000-vehicle mark in quarterly sales for the first time, securing the sixth and seventh spots. Notably, Xiaomi Motor made its debut in the global top 10 with its SU7 model, achieving a market share of 2.5% and demonstrating an outstanding performance. Furthermore, spurred by favorable policies in the Korean market, Hyundai witnessed a 41% increase in sales, placing it in the tenth position.
