On August 18, the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, in partnership with the National Computer Network Emergency Response Technical Team/Coordination Center of China, the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, and the National Research Center for Industrial Information Security Development, revealed plans to commence inspections on automotive data security compliance for automotive products starting from April 2025. This voluntary inspection initiative aligns with the "Several Provisions on the Administration of Automobile Data Security (Trial)" and relevant information security technical standards. The inspection encompasses five key compliance areas: anonymization of facial information outside the vehicle, in-vehicle processing of cabin data, default non-collection of cabin data, clear notification during personal information processing, and the applicability of accuracy ranges. Following the inspection, 49 models from 13 enterprises have been confirmed to meet these five automotive data security compliance requirements. These enterprises include FAW Toyota, FAW Group, Volkswagen, Zhejiang Geely, Beijing Ideal, Chongqing Changan, Xiaomi Automobile, Thalys, Zhaoqing XPeng, Chery Automobile, SAIC Motor, Great Wall Motors, and FAW Besturn. It is important to note that due to specific circumstances, certain models are exempt from the requirement for anonymization of facial information outside the vehicle.
