On October 28, technology journalist Mark Gurman revealed that Apple plans to launch new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models on Wednesday, adding higher-priced options to its existing lineup. These new models will be the first Mac products to feature OLED XDR touchscreens and the Dynamic Island design, driving their starting prices to new heights. According to sources, the new 14-inch model equipped with the M5 Pro chip may be priced at $2,899, $400 higher than the current model. Currently, the 16-inch MacBook Pro without a touchscreen starts at $2,999, while the new model is expected to be priced at least $3,399. If the 14-inch model is priced at $2,899, it will set a new record for the highest starting price of a MacBook Pro model, surpassing the $2,799 price tag of the 17-inch model from 2006.
