On the evening of October 16, 2026, at precisely 8 PM, Apple unveiled its inaugural foldable smartphone, the iPhone Duo, and opened it up for pre-orders. The Chinese version of this groundbreaking device starts at 15,999 yuan, with the premium 2TB variant commanding a hefty price tag of 26,499 yuan, marking it as the most expensive iPhone ever released by Apple.
The iPhone Duo is driven by the cutting-edge A20 Pro processor and boasts a book-like inward-folding design. It features a spacious 7.6-inch inner screen and a compact 5.4-inch outer screen, both supporting eSIM technology. Within moments of the pre-order launch, all models were swiftly snapped up, with some customers facing estimated delivery dates stretching as far as January 2027.
In response to this new device, Tencent's customer service has confirmed that WeChat has been tailored specifically for the iPhone Duo, ensuring seamless download and usage. The WeChat team is diligently working on additional adaptations and optimizations, with plans to roll out subsequent updates aimed at elevating the overall user experience. Furthermore, the WeChat Keyboard, now at version 4.0.0, has also undergone comprehensive adaptation for the iPhone Duo.
