On October 23, Apple unveiled its first-ever foldable smartphone, the iPhone Duo, which officially hit the shelves with the Chinese variant starting at a price of RMB 15,999. This innovative device boasts a book-like foldable design, incorporating a 7.6-inch foldable inner display and a 5.4-inch outer screen. Both screens are crafted with Super Retina XDR technology and are compatible with ProMotion adaptive refresh rate for seamless visuals.
Under the hood, the iPhone Duo is driven by the formidable A20 Pro chip. It sports a rear-mounted 48-megapixel fused primary camera alongside an ultra-wide-angle lens, enabling Dolby Vision video recording at an impressive 4K resolution and 120 frames per second. When it comes to battery endurance, the outer screen offers up to 44 hours of video playback, while the inner screen can sustain up to 31 hours. Moreover, the iPhone Duo bids farewell to the traditional physical SIM card slot, opting exclusively for eSIM support.
In terms of sales strategy, the iPhone Duo adheres to the same “online pre-order, in-store pickup” approach as the iPhone 18 Pro Max. According to Apple Store personnel, in-store inventory is not available for immediate purchase. Customers without pre-orders are advised to visit the store after 10 AM to explore the demo units.
