The iPhone 18 Pro series has been available for purchase in China for almost a month now, and users have been reporting various issues. Notably, the localized fading of the body on the flagship Burgundy Red model stands out, with light pink marks appearing around the camera area. This fading problem is reminiscent of the color fading issue encountered with the Cosmic Orange version of the iPhone 17 Pro series, likely stemming from insufficient sealing during the anodizing process for certain production batches.
Moreover, the series is plagued by a vulnerability in the Face ID system, causing the device to automatically reboot when facial recognition becomes unresponsive. Some users have also noted that under specific shooting conditions, green shadows or spots manifest in the captured footage, a phenomenon linked to wide apertures, high focal lengths, and dim or warm lighting settings.
Apple's customer service has indicated that for the fading issue, users can seek advice at offline stores or apply for after-sales service. As for the Face ID problem, the engineering team is conducting investigations and aims to resolve it through future system updates.
The iPhone 18 Pro series boasts an aluminum unibody design and is powered by the A20 Pro chip. It was unveiled alongside several other Apple products on September 10.
