Apple is gearing up for large-scale production of its standard iPhone 18 model. According to a Weibo post by the well-known tipster "Dingjiao Digital," this eagerly awaited device is slated to commence production in late November 2026, with Apple building up a significant inventory in anticipation. However, its official release might be delayed until spring 2027, when it will make its debut alongside the iPhone 18e.

The standard iPhone 18 will be powered by the cutting-edge TSMC 2nm process A20 chip, which promises a remarkable 30% improvement in energy efficiency. Its display will be a 6.3-inch OLED flat screen, featuring, for the first time, a 120Hz ProMotion adaptive refresh rate. The iconic Dynamic Island design will be retained, albeit with a 30%-35% reduction in display area.

In terms of build, the iPhone 18 may sport an aluminum alloy mid-frame and a matte glass back cover. It is expected to measure approximately 7.95mm in thickness and weigh between 170 and 190 grams, offering IP68 dust and water resistance for added durability.

The imaging system will feature a dual rear camera setup, with a 48-megapixel main camera. There are two possible pixel counts for the ultra-wide-angle lens: either 12 million or 48 million. Notably, it is not expected to include an optical telephoto lens. The front camera could see an upgrade to either 18 million or 24 million pixels, supporting 4K video recording at 60fps.

Battery capacity is estimated to range from 3700mAh to 4200mAh, with wired charging power increased to 35W to 40W. MagSafe wireless charging will remain at 20W to 25W. In terms of communication capabilities, the iPhone 18 may be equipped with Apple's self-developed Apple C2 5G modem and Apple N1 wireless chip.

Memory configurations are also a topic of speculation, with possibilities including 9GB and 12GB. This could have implications for the extent of iOS 27's on-device AI functionality support. As for pricing, referring to the starting price of the iPhone 17 series, the standard iPhone 18 is expected to start at no less than RMB 6,799.
