Apple has teamed up with LG Electronics and Schneider Electric to roll out the innovative Apple Home Collection—a new series of smart home accessories. This lineup encompasses both indoor and outdoor cameras, thermostats, temperature and humidity sensors, video doorbells, and smart door locks. These accessories are designed for effortless setup, enabling users to seamlessly manage them all through the Apple Home app. The entire system is fortified with end-to-end encryption technology, safeguarding the security of users' home data. This ensures that neither Apple nor its partner manufacturers can access this sensitive information. The products will be rolled out gradually, starting from December, with some accessories slated for release in early 2027. Notably, LG's cameras boast up to 2.5K video recording capabilities, come equipped with advanced object recognition features, and can store 10 days' worth of activity videos via iCloud+. They continue recording even during internet outages. LG's smart locks employ ultra-wideband technology for automatic unlocking, support various door-opening methods, and offer comprehensive visitor authorization and status monitoring functions. Their core access features remain operational even without a network connection. Furthermore, the smart thermostats from LG and Schneider Electric can automatically adjust temperatures based on user activity, provide clean energy scheduling advice for users in the United States, support multi-room temperature and humidity monitoring, and are simple to install. All products in this series are compatible with the Matter protocol, ensuring seamless integration and interoperability.
