In the second quarter of 2026, the global market for smart glasses witnessed shipments soaring to 3.547 million units, marking a significant year-on-year (YoY) increase of 35.3%. Notably, shipments of audio and audio-recording glasses, along with AR/ER glasses, surged by 54% and 75.7% YoY, respectively. In contrast, VR/MR headset shipments experienced a decline of 23.3% YoY. For the first half of the year, cumulative shipments reached 7.114 million units, reflecting a robust 70.5% YoY growth. This wave of expansion was predominantly fueled by glasses-shaped products, as the market gravitates towards more advanced intelligence levels. The latter half of the year is anticipated to bring forth new product launches and technological integrations, potentially reshaping the industry landscape, though the overall demand trend remains to be seen.
