Specifically, the iPhone 18 Pro can maintain an average charging power of 40W for a duration of 13 minutes, enabling it to reach a 57% charge within just 15 minutes and an impressive 84% in half an hour. Meanwhile, the iPhone 18 Pro Max peaks at 54W within the initial 10 minutes of charging, achieving a 50% charge in 15 minutes and 80% in the same half-hour timeframe. Apple's official specifications confirm that this series of iPhones can charge up to 50% in around 15 minutes, marking a significant 5-minute improvement over the iPhone 17 Pro. To achieve these rapid charging speeds, a 60W charger that supports the SPR AVS protocol within the USB PD 3.2 framework is required. Notably, last year Apple unveiled a 40W dynamic power adapter compatible with the SPR AVS protocol; however, the iPhone 17 did not incorporate this protocol and instead relied on a traditional 15V fixed-voltage charging method.
