On September 16, 2026, John Lee Ka-chiu, the Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, unveiled the 'First Five-Year Plan for Economic and Social Development of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (2026 - 2030)'. This plan puts forth the initiative to foster the growth of cross-border low-altitude logistics within the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. It seeks to fully capitalize on the robust industrial base and strategic geographical advantages of the Greater Bay Area. By collaborating with neighboring mainland cities, the plan aims to seamlessly integrate resources and elements from the three regions (Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao). This integration will not only expand the range of application scenarios but also expedite the establishment of a large-scale cross-border low-altitude logistics network that encompasses the entire Greater Bay Area.
