The Beijing Municipal Government has recently unveiled the updated 'Regulations on the Management of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles in Beijing,' set to come into force on November 15, 2026. These new regulations designate the entire city of Beijing as a controlled airspace for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), imposing a blanket ban on the flight, possession, storage, transportation, and carrying of UAVs and their key components within the city's administrative boundaries. In parallel, specialized support units are mandated to establish robust safety management systems, and any flight activities under special support conditions must strictly adhere to pertinent national regulations. To assist residents in lawfully disposing of their existing UAV equipment, the city has established three disposal avenues: on-site buyback programs, scrapping and recycling services, and outbound shipping options, with subsidy policies tailored to different categories.
