Apple is reportedly preparing to introduce its first AI-powered smart glasses, a departure from conventional AR devices. These glasses are anticipated to make their debut and be showcased to developers as early as WWDC 2027, with shipments commencing the same year and a possible market release by September. Featuring a lensless display system and an integrated camera, these glasses can respond to inquiries through Siri, offer descriptions of surroundings, translate signs, and capture and retrieve objects or images. The audio experience is enhanced with speakers that mimic the open-ear design of headphones. The glasses will be available in four frame styles, likely crafted from acetate, with color options including black, ocean blue, and light brown.
