On August 29th, reports surfaced indicating that the computer market is undergoing a wave of price increases. Several computer brand retailers in Shenzhen disclosed that brands like HP, Lenovo, and ASUS are set to implement price hikes starting September 1st. Notably, HP had already raised its prices by 15% on August 28th, and with an additional increase slated for September 1st, the total price hike will approximate 20%. Lenovo stores have also confirmed the receipt of the price increase notification and will adjust their prices accordingly on September 1st. ASUS store personnel anticipate that their brand will elevate prices by at least 500 yuan post-September 1st. Store employees have attributed this price adjustment primarily to the escalation in upstream chip costs. Low-end models have borne the brunt of this round of price increases, whereas mid-to-high-end models have experienced relatively modest rises. Furthermore, prices in the second-hand computer market have also risen in tandem.
