On August 27, Apple Inc. (AAPL.O) declared that it would host its most significant product launch event of the year at its Cupertino headquarters at 10 a.m. Pacific Time on September 9 (which translates to 1 a.m. Beijing Time the following day). This event will notably be the first major product launch helmed by John Ternus since he took on the role of CEO. Apple is anticipated to unveil its inaugural foldable iPhone, a device comparable in size to a standard passport and boasting a screen size akin to that of a small iPad when fully unfolded. This represents the most substantial design overhaul for the iPhone in almost two decades.
Furthermore, Apple has plans to release the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max models. These new additions will feature faster chips, enhanced battery life, and significantly upgraded camera functionalities. Notably, at least the larger model will be equipped with a mechanical aperture. However, the release of the second-generation iPhone Air and the standard iPhone 18 has been postponed until the following spring. In the meantime, the new Apple Watch is also expected to make its grand debut at the event. Tim Cook, who is relinquishing his position as CEO, will continue his tenure as Executive Chairman.
