According to the global model sales tracking report issued by market research firm Counterpoint Research, in the second quarter of 2026, the Apple iPhone 17 emerged as the top-selling smartphone, commanding a 6% share of global sales. Apple and Samsung each secured five spots in the top ten list, jointly accounting for 26% of global smartphone sales, marking a year-on-year increase of 2 percentage points. Despite an overall 11% year-on-year decline in the global smartphone market, influenced by the global RAM shortage, major manufacturers focused their resources on flagship and top-selling models. This strategy led to the highest level of market concentration in the top ten list for that quarter in history.
