Shan Lianyu, General Manager of Xiaomi Group's Large Appliance Division, announced that the Xiaomi Wuhan Smart Factory has welcomed over 20,000 visitors. The 20,000th visitor was Maria Antonina, a student from Belarus, who came as part of the Youth Cultural Study Camp for Eurasian Countries at Wuhan University. The factory commenced operations on October 28, 2025, marking Xiaomi's first self-built smart appliance factory and its third smart manufacturing base. On March 18, 2026, the factory opened its doors to the public, allowing visitors to experience the full-chain smart appliance manufacturing process. Since its launch, the factory has hosted 354 overseas visitors from 13 countries. Leveraging its self-developed platform and AI visual quality inspection technology, the factory can roll off one high-end air conditioner every 6.5 seconds, with 100% accurate inspection of key components. The factory is equipped with six core air conditioner sub-factories and other facilities, achieving integration of research, production, supply, and logistics. Lu Weibing has previously stated that Xiaomi's large appliance business aims to reach RMB 100 billion in scale over the next five years, with the goal of becoming a leading domestic home appliance brand by 2030.
