In the first half of 2026, the total number of global smartphone panel shipments hit 1.12 billion units, marking a 2.9% increase year-on-year. Although the demand from end-users was sluggish, the market managed to operate steadily. This stability was attributed to several factors, including restocking in the mid-to-low-end market segment, robust sales of Apple products, and a growing demand for repairs. Regarding the competitive landscape among manufacturers, BOE emerged as the leader, capturing a 25.2% market share with shipments totaling 280 million units. This success was fueled by growth in both its a-Si LCD and flexible OLED businesses, as well as new advancements in its G8.6-generation OLED production line. Samsung Display secured the second position, shipping 170 million units. Its flexible OLED shipments saw a significant surge of 34.5%, thanks to the strong sales of iPhones. CSOT claimed the third spot, with shipments reaching 150 million units, mainly due to the release of its a-Si LCD production capacity. However, to maintain its growth momentum in the future, CSOT will need to optimize its product mix.
