During the routine press briefing held on the 20th, He Yadong, the official spokesperson for the Ministry of Commerce, addressed the United States' recent move to impose Section 232 tariffs on drones and their associated components. He stated that China has duly acknowledged the US decision. China contends that the US is, under the pretext of 'national security,' enacting unilateral and protectionist policies. In truth, the drones that China exports to the US are predominantly utilized for civilian purposes, including agricultural activities, equipment inspections, and the film and entertainment industries.

He Yadong further emphasized that the US has overextended the concept of national security, applying differential tariffs to its trading partners and thereby discriminating against Chinese goods. Such actions have significantly infringed upon the interests of Chinese businesses, disrupted the global production and supply chain cooperation for drones, and compromised a level playing field for competition. China stands firmly against these measures and calls on the US to promptly rescind the relevant tariff policies.
