On August 18, Xiaomi Group (01810.HK) revealed that during the second quarter of 2026, its Smartphone x AIoT division generated revenue amounting to RMB 84 billion. Meanwhile, revenue from its innovative business sectors, encompassing smart electric vehicles and artificial intelligence (AI), soared to RMB 24.9 billion. Throughout this quarter, Xiaomi shipped 31.2 million smartphones, and the count of connected devices on its IoT platform surged to 1.161 billion, marking a 17.4% year-on-year increase. Furthermore, new vehicle deliveries soared to 104,199 units, representing a notable 28.2% rise compared to the same period last year. In terms of research and development (R&D) investment, Xiaomi's expenditure on R&D in the second quarter of 2026 reached RMB 9.2 billion, reflecting an 18.9% year-on-year uptick. By June 30, 2026, R&D personnel constituted 47.2% of Xiaomi's total workforce.
