On Sunday, LG Electronics, a prominent South Korean home appliance maker, made an announcement stating that its newly-constructed home appliance factory in Brazil has officially started operations as part of its strategic move to bolster its foothold in the South American market. Situated in the state of Paraná in southern Brazil, this new factory marks LG's second production site in the area. It commenced production last week, boasting an impressive annual refrigerator production capacity of 600,000 units. When combined with the output of the existing factory in Amazonas State, Brazil, LG's total annual home appliance production capacity in Brazil is projected to surpass 7 million units.
