Apple's stock price took a nosedive in after-hours trading as component shortages cast a shadow over sales expectations, underscoring the adverse effects of industry supply chain bottlenecks that have outstripped projections. Apple anticipates revenue growth of 9% to 11% in the fourth fiscal quarter, a figure that falls short of analysts' prior estimates of over 12%. In the third fiscal quarter, Apple's total revenue, iPhone business revenue, Mac business revenue, and earnings per share all exceeded market forecasts. Nevertheless, sales in Greater China, service business revenue, and iPad business revenue did not meet expectations. The deceleration in growth within the service business and Greater China sales has sparked concerns among market observers. Supply constraints are anticipated to affect the iPhone, Mac, and iPad businesses in the fourth fiscal quarter, while currency fluctuations are also expected to hinder growth. Apple CEO Tim Cook will relinquish his position on September 1, with Ternus set to take the helm. To spur sales, Apple has plans to unveil a range of new Macs and iPads this year and the next, including the inaugural touchscreen MacBook and a revamped iPad mini.
