On July 8, 2026, Ericsson declared that it had reached a comprehensive global patent settlement with Transsion. As part of the agreement, both companies have agreed to withdraw all pending lawsuits and administrative actions across all jurisdictions. The financial ramifications of this settlement will become evident in the financial results for the third quarter of 2026. Prior to this resolution, Ericsson had filed patent infringement lawsuits against Transsion in several countries. In response, Transsion lodged a countersuit against Ericsson at the Unified Patent Court in Europe. This settlement signifies that Transsion has finalized patent licensing agreements with numerous entities, including Qualcomm, Nokia, Philips, and Ericsson, thereby effectively putting an end to the majority of its global patent disputes.
