The Indian government has launched an inquiry into the data breach that occurred at Tata Electronics. On July 2, Krishnan, the Secretary of India's Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, announced that the government is probing the significant data breach at Tata Electronics, and the incident has been duly reported to the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team. Tata Electronics stands as one of Apple's key component suppliers and a prominent contract manufacturer within India.

Recently, a criminal gang pilfered a substantial volume of confidential, unreleased data and subsequently uploaded it to the dark web. This stolen data encompasses supply chain information for components of the yet-to-be-announced iPhone 18 Pro, as well as testing materials related to the model. With Apple slated to unveil its new model in September, the timing of this data breach poses a particularly vexing challenge for the company. At present, both Apple and Tata have initiated their own investigations into the matter.
