Apple's soon-to-be-released flagship device, the iPhone 18 Pro, has been hit by a significant data breach. As per reports from Reuters and several other news agencies, Tata Electronics, a key supplier for Apple in India, fell victim to a cyberattack. This breach led to the theft of a substantial volume of confidential information, which was subsequently posted on the dark web. The exposed documents encompass sensitive data, including test images, parts inventories, and supplier specifics for the iPhone 18 Pro. Notably, the test images reveal the actual device undergoing drop tests, showcasing a triple-camera setup and the iconic Apple logo on the rear. This security lapse presents a direct challenge to Apple's meticulously coordinated global manufacturing network, with the potential to disrupt its collaboration with Tata Electronics and grant competitors and counterfeit producers a glimpse into Apple's supply chain intricacies. Apple has initiated an inquiry into the incident and is working in tandem with Tata Electronics to devise remedial actions.
