Tencent's payment application, dubbed 'TenPayGo,' has made its debut on the Apple App Store. Developed by Tencent Technology (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd., the app features an English interface. Presently, the application is undergoing internal testing, as evidenced by the registration process, which displays the status as 'under internal testing.' Tencent has clarified that TenPayGo serves as a 'convenient life assistant' for foreigners visiting China, with the ambition to offer a comprehensive suite of digital life services, including mobile payments. Once users link their bank cards, they can generate a payment QR code or scan a merchant's QR code to finalize transactions, and also review transaction details. The app's payment functionality is built upon WeChat Pay's existing infrastructure, encompassing a wide array of daily consumption scenarios such as shopping, dining, transportation, hotels, tourist attractions, and healthcare. Foreign users can make payments at both offline and online merchants that accept WeChat Pay, eliminating the need for cash exchange or preparing change. Looking ahead, the application is set to progressively incorporate additional local transportation and life service features.
