Forty-eight Chinese iOS developers have collectively submitted a report to the State Administration for Market Regulation, accusing Apple of failing to honor its commitment to offer the "global lowest commission rate" in the Chinese market. Earlier this year, in March, Apple announced a reduction in in-app purchase (IAP) commissions for the Chinese mainland. However, it only implemented the IAP fee reduction without providing access to third-party payment methods, external link payments, or third-party distribution channels. This has resulted in a significant disparity compared to its practices overseas. The complaint letter urges regulatory intervention, demanding that Apple open up multiple channels in China in a synchronized manner and establish an "automatic alignment supervision mechanism" to ensure fairness and compliance.
