Samsung is set to unveil two horizontally foldable smartphones in 2026: the Galaxy Z Fold8 and the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra. Among these, the Z Fold8 Ultra, an upgraded iteration of the Galaxy Z Fold7, will boast a larger battery capacity of 5000mAh and a sleeker, more lightweight body design, measuring just 4.1mm in thickness when unfolded. Under the hood, it will be powered by Qualcomm's fifth-generation Snapdragon 8 Supreme processor and support 45W fast-charging capabilities. The device maintains a book-like left-right folding structure, featuring an 8-inch inner display and a 6.5-inch outer screen. Both screens utilize Dynamic AMOLED 2X panels and support a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. The imaging system has been enhanced with a dual-camera setup, comprising a 50-megapixel primary camera and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens. Additionally, the device comes pre-loaded with Android 16 and Samsung's One UI 8 interface. Positioned as a formidable competitor to Apple's rumored foldable iPhone, Samsung aims to strengthen its foothold in the premium market through its distinctive design. The official debut of the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra is anticipated at the London launch event on July 22, 2026.
