Based on the WeChat official account of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, during the period from January to April this year, the added value of China’s electronics manufacturing industry above the designated size witnessed a 14% year-on-year surge. This growth rate outpaced that of the overall industrial sector and the high-tech manufacturing sector by 8.4 and 1.4 percentage points, respectively, during the same timeframe. Focusing on the month of April alone, the industry’s added value soared by 15.6% year-on-year. Regarding the output of key products, mobile phone production totaled 452 million units, marking a marginal 0.3% increase, with smartphone production reaching 390 million units, up by 6.5%. Meanwhile, microcomputer device production stood at 95.426 million units, experiencing a 10% decline, whereas integrated circuit production hit a remarkable 176.97 billion units, surging by 24.7%.
