CAICT Report: Domestic Mobile Phone Shipments Hit 25.733 Million Units in April, Showing 2.8% YoY Growth

On May 26, data released by the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT) revealed that domestic mobile phone shipments reached 25.733 million units in April 2026, marking a year-on-year (YoY) increase of 2.8%. Notably, shipments of 5G mobile phones surged to 24.736 million units, up 24.4% YoY, and accounted for a substantial 96.1% of the total shipments. In the cumulative period from January to April 2026, domestic mobile phone shipments totaled 86.538 million units, experiencing an 8.6% YoY decline. However, 5G mobile phone shipments during the same period reached 80.203 million units, only slightly decreasing by 0.9% YoY, and representing 92.7% of the overall shipments.
