On May 25, 2026, the technology news platform 9to5Google unveiled an unusual occurrence affecting certain Motorola phones following an update to the Smart Feed app. Specifically, when users accessed the Amazon App via the app drawer, the system momentarily launched a browser and embedded affiliate marketing links. Notably, this issue did not manifest when the app was opened directly from the home screen. The glitch was initially detected by Razr 60 Ultra users through ADB logs, with the root cause identified as the pre-installed Smart Feed app. Network records indicated that the device had communicated with the advertising service provider devicenative.com, and the redirected URL, complete with its Amazon affiliate code, did not align with publicly accessible data. Motorola has not issued a statement yet, and users are recommended to deactivate the Smart Feed app to halt the insertion of these promotional links.
