On May 19, Xiaomi Corporation released an internal memo detailing the imposition of the severest penalties for two fraud cases involving vacuum pumping during the installation of air conditioners. The engineers implicated in these cases were summarily dismissed and permanently blacklisted, while their respective service outlets faced fines amounting to 1,000 yuan per installation, along with a nationwide public disclosure of their misconduct. Furthermore, all branch companies and partner service providers were mandated to undertake thorough self-inspections and implement necessary rectifications.
Vacuum pumping constitutes a pivotal stage in the installation process of inverter air conditioners. Should this procedure fail to meet the required standards, it could potentially compromise the cooling efficiency, escalate power consumption, and curtail the operational lifespan of the unit. In response to these concerns, Xiaomi has instituted a comprehensive digital monitoring system for vacuum pumping across the entire installation chain. This system equips installation technicians with intelligent digital vacuum gauges, enabling real-time data uploads to the cloud. Installations are only considered complete upon meeting the stipulated standards. Additionally, users have the convenience of accessing inspection reports via the App, and the system is adept at detecting abnormal fluctuations to pinpoint any fraudulent activities.
