Samsung has embarked on a worldwide system update initiative, introducing the stable version of One UI 8.5, built upon Android 16, to Galaxy S23 series smartphones. Initially, this update was exclusively accessible in South Korea; however, it has now been extended to the European and Indian markets, with intentions to encompass additional regions in the near future. The Chinese iteration of the Galaxy S23 Ultra has also been graced with this update, bearing the new firmware version number S91xBXXU9FZDP. For users who were not part of the testing phase, the installation package exceeds 4GB in size, whereas the upgrade package for beta testers is roughly 300MB.
This update brings a host of enhancements. The interface now features a fully customizable quick panel, and the device maintenance menu has undergone a redesign. There are also minor updates to the overall interface language. In terms of imaging capabilities, the Galaxy AI Photo Assistant now boasts the ability to support continuous image generation. The camera has been enriched with three new portrait filters. Additionally, the lock screen wallpaper can automatically adjust to the positions of on-screen widgets, as well as people or objects depicted in the wallpaper.
