On May 19, the Jiangsu Provincial Government convened an economic operation scheduling meeting, chaired and addressed by Governor Liu Xiaotao. He underscored the necessity of fully unlocking consumption potential, launching targeted initiatives to spur consumption, and striving to stabilize major consumer expenditures. The emphasis should be placed on supply, platforms, and critical junctures to drive the expansion and quality enhancement of service consumption, while nurturing and expanding emerging growth areas such as smart wearable devices, the first-release and flagship store economy, and AI-powered transport consumption. Simultaneously, it is crucial to expedite investments in the "Six Networks," ramp up efforts to attract foreign businesses and capital, support competitive enterprises in raising funds and expanding production, boost technological transformation investments, and reinforce the development of high-quality housing to stabilize the real estate market. Moreover, efforts should be made to accelerate the cultivation of new quality productive forces suited to local conditions, further integrate and concentrate innovation resources, bolster technological innovation, systematically advance the development of six emerging pillar industries and six future-oriented industries, comprehensively implement the "AI Plus" initiative, and forge a new paradigm of the intelligent economy. The meeting also highlighted the significance of focusing on the "Five New" dimensions of foreign trade, actively engaging with multinational corporations and international capital, and fostering a steady improvement in the quality of foreign trade and investment.
