Xiaomi's product manager, Sun Cun, has announced that users of certain older Xiaomi models, who have no immediate plans to upgrade to newer devices, can anticipate the launch of an official battery replacement service in the near future. By swapping out the old batteries for brand-new, custom-fitted ones, some models from a few years back, such as the Xiaomi 13, may experience a boost in battery capacity. However, it's important to note that not all older models will be eligible for this service, and the official list of compatible devices will be released in due course. Presently, the battery upgrade service is accessible for the Xiaomi 13 series, encompassing three distinct models. The cost for capacity expansion and battery replacement, including materials, is set at 149 yuan, with an additional labor charge of 40 yuan, making it a cost-effective alternative to buying a new smartphone. Post-upgrade, the battery capacity of these three models will see a notable increase. Xiaomi officials have mentioned that it's normal for the new batteries to take a bit longer to charge fully. This service comes as a welcome relief for users of older flagship models, enabling them to revive their device's battery life and avoid the expense of purchasing a new phone.
