On May 14, 2026, Jack Huynh, the General Manager of AMD's Computing and Graphics Business Group, made an announcement that the FSR Super Resolution 4.1 technology is set to be compatible with graphics cards featuring RDNA3 and RDNA2 architectures. The rollout of FSR 4.1 support for RDNA3 graphics cards is scheduled for July 2026, encompassing more than 300 games. Meanwhile, the implementation of support for RDNA2 graphics cards is projected to take place in early 2027. FSR 4.1 embraces the INT8 data precision format, with the specific objective of elevating both image quality and gaming performance. Nevertheless, it's worth noting that the FSR Ray Reconstruction and Radiance Cache features will continue to be exclusive to the RDNA4 architecture. Moreover, the compatibility with some RDNA3.5 integrated graphics cards is still pending confirmation.
