According to reports, Apple is working closely with South Korean display manufacturers to pioneer a groundbreaking screen technology that promises to redefine the look of the iPhone. The company aims to equip the 2028 iPhone model with a truly edge-to-edge curved OLED display, along with the introduction of an innovative transparent electrode technology. The essence of this technology is Apple’s demand for suppliers to utilize a novel transparent cathode material, based on indium zinc oxide, to substitute the conventional opaque OLED cathode layer. This substitution is set to enhance the transparency of the emissive layer, while also minimizing visual distortion and uneven brightness issues at the curved edges of the screen.
