At the Android Show I/O Edition event, Google made an official announcement regarding a sweeping overhaul of nearly 4,000 Emoji within the Android system. These Emoji have been upgraded to a 3D design, christened as Noto 3D, while retaining the use of the current Noto emoji framework. The fresh 3D renditions are more lifelike, amplifying emotional expression. The initial wave of adaptations is set to debut on Pixel devices 'later this year,' with subsequent rollouts planned for Gboard, YouTube, and Gmail. The schedule for adapting these changes to other Android devices remains undecided. Moreover, Gboard is set to introduce a novel Rambler mode, which automatically eliminates superfluous spoken words, thereby streamlining expressions to be more succinct.
