Apple has revised the memory configurations of its Mac Studio and Mac Mini lineups, phasing out several high-capacity memory options. Specifically, the M3 Ultra variant of the Mac Studio no longer offers a 256GB memory configuration, the M4 Max model has discontinued the 128GB option, and the M4 Pro Mac Mini has removed the 64GB choice, effectively raising the minimum memory requirements for these devices. This adjustment is a direct response to mounting supply chain pressures. Earlier this year, in March, Apple had already removed the 512GB memory option from the Mac Studio, and now the scarcity of high-memory configurations has widened further. Apple's CEO has acknowledged that escalating memory prices are eating into the company's profit margins, with this trend expected to worsen in the coming quarters.
